As Gaffer, owner/operator of “I said Jimmy” Grip and Electric, I push for the best on every project I tackle. I’m professional, flexible and easy to work with. I lose the ego and focus on getting the project planned, shot and finished as the Director and Director of Photography envisioned it. .
Hi! I’m Jim Fischer. Having worked in Dallas, Texas in the Grip and Electric industry since 1991 with some of the most respected key Grips and Gaffers, I feel honored to have learned from the best. As I broadened my experience I did the typical climb up the ladder thing and settled into a gaffer position in 2006. Now, with literally hundreds of shoots in my career bank, I’ve grown confident enough in my lighting expertise to start my own business.
…and this is what happened next.
I bought and built up a grip truck and customized it’s interior to efficiently house my really cool grip gear and lighting equipment. Then I started slapping my awesome “I said Jimmy” logo on everything and had this cool website built. It’s the marketing end of my business, and it’s designed to share with you who I am, what I do, and how I do it.
My Standards
You can expect spot on lighting for your production plan. Not only am I accountable for your lighting design, I personally provide and maintain high-end lighting equipment while executing a great production and end product. My glorified 2-ton grip truck is well organized with efficient carts designed for fast in and out loads. Simply put, It’s my stuff so I take good care of it. You’re my client so I take good care of you.
Bottom line, I’m a really fun guy to work with, and I’ll use all my tips and tricks and full blown lighting expertise to help make your finished project look great. Plus, we’ll have a blast doing it.
